Recorded in October 1993 at Triclops Sound in Atlanta�just six months before Kurt Cobain�s death and eight days after the album was finished�Hole�s second major-label record is a 38-minute bloodletting of rage, motherhood, body dysmorphia, fame, and survival. Love�s voice is shredded glass: one minute a baby-doll coo, the next a full-throttle banshee wail that makes the speakers bleed. Eric Erlandson�s guitars slash like switchblades, Patty Schemel drums like she�s trying to punch through the floor, and Melissa Auf der Maur�s bass growls underneath like a warning.
