Salad Days is the sound of a 23-year-old Canadian weirdo in a tiny Brooklyn apartment deciding that growing up doesn�t have to mean getting serious. After the warped, lo-fi charm of 2 (2012), Mac could have chased indie stardom. Instead he bought a pack of cigarettes, a $30 Yamaha organ, and a half-broken Teac reel-to-reel, and made the ultimate Sunday-morning hangover record. Every guitar is slightly out of tune, every vocal is soaked in cigarette smoke and tape warble, and every song feels like it was written while staring at a crack in the ceiling.
