Dookie is the sound of three bored, pissed-off, snot-nosed kids from the East Bay accidentally inventing the last great youth movement of the 20th century. Recorded in three weeks at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley with first-time major-label producer Rob Cavallo, the album is 39 minutes of pure teenage adrenaline: 14 songs about masturbation, boredom, panic attacks, shitty jobs, shitty parents, and the glorious realisation that you don�t have to take any of it seriously. Billie Joe Armstrong�s voice is equal parts sneer and cracked vulnerability, Mike Dirnt�s bass lines are catchy enough to hum, and Tr� Cool drums like he�s trying to wake the neighbours.
